Alexandra Morar

Alexandra is a proud Ohio native and 2022 graduate of Waynesburg University located in Pennsylvania (yes, she did sadly leave her beautiful cornfield state). When she is not writing, Alexandra may be seen teaching 3rd grade/Spanish in DC, throwing dishes into Hobart at Ligonier Camp and Conference Center, or playing her violin in the streets. She studied Political Science and History in college and is passionate about learning others’ stories. As she navigates her next adventures (with or without planning…), she knows God is with her and is ready for Him to use her in this chaotic world.

Website Dedication

I just want to say, there is absolutely NO WAY I would have survived traveling (let alone done it at all) had it not been for all of the kind and loving friends and strangers who encouraged me along the way. Below I will list just a few names, but there are countless others who have saved my behind from either a travel or decision mishap. I know a dedication is more common for books, but I wanted to give a special shoutout to just a few who had a big part in the making of this site.

  • Grandma- For believing in the “girl with a journal.”

  • Mom- For dealing with your intrepid offspring. For mailing me countless items, paying my phone bills, and helping me with the logistics of adult life (like ordering contacts… thanks for mailing those by the way).

  • Rea Redd- For being one of the most devoted and amazing professors at Waynesburg University. I loved the Gettysburg and Antietam service trips, and am thankful you keep in touch about explorations.

  • Carin Camp- For being a mom to me; for all of the advice, phone calls, patience, and mediating a friend fight as two idiots forgot how to communicate.

  • Bob- For inspiring my love of travel and always lending travel advice. For taking the time to create and give thoughtful, handmade gifts.

  • Amanda Latta- For helping me realize a traveler is an identity.

  • Elliott Kimball- First off, for coming up with the name for this website. Secondly, for hearing all of my rants and offering advice, and of course, for introducing me to Calvinism.

  • Corey Richardson- For being Corey… move to DC!!!

  • Aunt Mary Kay- For being a true Wonder Woman and believing I’m one, too.

  • Mr. Kale- For being the best supporter of high schoolers this world has.

  • Mrs. Baker- For inspiring me to “be different” and dance/busk in the streets.

  • Ana, Dani, Elena, y Dani Pequeño- For trusting a stranger and giving me a home- la casa con el más amor en este mundo.

  • Casasimarro- For everything. No tengo las palabras suficientes para mis chicas guapas, mi clase de ingles, las andarinas, la granja, Ana Flor, mis abuelos- gracias por todo.

  • The Good Family- For giving me the opportunity to live in DC and be a part of your family. For helping me realize teaching is a unique job; it is both challenging, yet one of the most rewarding and fun roles I have held.

  • Diane Hughes- For showing me that being a life-long learner really is possible.

  • Ligonier- For being a true home away from home; a place for me amidst my caravanning.

  • Olivia Davis- For inspiring a crazy young writer and taking the time to help me plan a website.

*There are so, so many others I should mention here, there just is not enough room. I want to thank everyone that has shared advice, lent a hand, offered a ride, provided housing, and most importantly, taught me something/left an impact. My favorite part about traveling is meeting people and hearing their stories; people have so much to offer, and if we all take the time to listen, we can see we really do live in a wonderful world.
